Huawei unveils support for local large model deployment on new phones

According to IT Home, Huawei's Pura X View and Mate XT 2非凡大师 smartphones now support the download and deployment of large models on the device. These include a multimodal enhanced large model (around 6GB) and a multimodal mixture of experts model (around 15GB), both available for users to choose from. The multimodal enhanced model supports AI-enhanced services such as image generation and voice synthesis, along with features like AI-enhanced camera, photo editing, and voice narration. The multimodal mixture of experts model provides complex task understanding and application control services, such as offline photo organization. IT Home previously reported that in August 2026, Huawei rolled out the HarmonyOS 7.0.0.102 SP8 update, introducing features like 3D space wallpaper, intimacy circle, and outdoor exploration mode.
