Idc reports 92.5% growth in global quadruped robot shipments for 2026 first half

IDC's latest report reveals that global quadruped robot shipments in the first half of 2026 surpassed 49,000 units, marking a 92.5% year-over-year increase. The market size reached over $400 million, equivalent to approximately CNY 26.82 billion at current exchange rates. Industry applications, such as government, manufacturing, and public utilities, accounted for over two-thirds of the revenue despite contributing less than 40% of the units shipped. These applications saw a 125.1% revenue growth and a 260.5% deployment increase, highlighting their growing importance. Chinese companies like Unitree, DEEP Robotics, and AGIBOT dominated the market, leveraging supply chain and cost advantages. Meanwhile, Western firms such as ANYbotics and Boston Dynamics focused on specialized industrial and government sectors. The report emphasizes a market trend where consumer and academic demand drives volume, while industry applications fuel revenue growth. Industrial applications, in particular, saw a 194.2% revenue increase and a 537.9% unit growth, signaling rapid expansion in this segment.
