Instagram introduces paid AI photo editing limits
Instagram has introduced paid restrictions on its AI photo editing features, requiring users to subscribe to Meta One Core for continued access or wait until the next day. According to Business Insider, the change limits free usage of AI editing tools, prompting users to either subscribe or retry the next day. Meta One, launched in May 2026, costs $7.99 monthly, offering AI benefits and personalized features like previewing Instagram Stories without opening posts and custom app icons.
This marks another step in Meta's strategy to monetize AI features, following the 2023 launch of Meta Verified. The move has drawn attention from foreign media, highlighting increased competition with Adobe Photoshop, VSCO, and Tezza. Despite this, many users still favor free filters on Instagram. The success of these paid AI features remains uncertain among consumers.
