Instinct, the AI assistant valued at $2.5 billion, is rolling out a new feature that gives it its own email address. The company’s founder, Noah Shinn, explained that the email addresses will allow Instinct to create and manage its own accounts without cluttering users’ inboxes. This feature is part of a broader effort to make the AI assistant more autonomous, enabling it to handle tasks that require email, such as signing up for services or contacting businesses. Shinn noted that Instinct can use its own email to contact restaurants, ask about availability, or sign up for services on behalf of users. The email feature also allows users to forward emails to Inst, enabling it to assist with tasks like product returns. Instinct can be added to group threads to track information or process long threads by asking questions about pending decisions or deadlines. The feature follows recent partnerships with 1Password and Stripe, enhancing Instinct’s capabilities in account management and payments. The email addresses are available at mail.instinct.com, with some reserved for early users.
