Kimi apologizes for K3.1 pro usage issues, offers reset and compensation to subscribers
On October 26, 2026, Kimi announced an apology for recent issues experienced by subscribers using the K3.1 Pro model, including bandwidth limitations and unexpected usage. The company stated that the problems were on their end and that they should have addressed them sooner.
As part of the resolution, all active subscribers will receive a 25% compensation of their monthly quota, equivalent to one week’s usage. If their current usage is below 25%, it will be reset to zero. The adjustment results will be visible by the end of the day.
Kimi also mentioned that they have optimized the model by reducing unnecessary sub-Agent calls and output lengths to maximize the usage of the quota. The K3.1 Pro, launched on October 24, 2026, is the company’s strongest 3 trillion parameter model to date, supporting up to 1 million context tokens.
