Logistics firm's CEO: robots' future lies in everyday life, not just stage performances

Shanghai-based logistics company Shangwei New Materials has launched its consumer-grade robots, Q1 and T1, with pre-orders now open and initial shipments expected in September 2024. The company's co-founder and CEO, Peng Zhihui, known online as 'Zhuihuijun,' emphasized that the ultimate goal of robotics is not to perform on stage but to integrate seamlessly into daily life, becoming as natural as a smartphone. During the 2026 World Robotics Conference, Peng Wenzheng, the Q1 development lead at Shangwei New Materials, stated that the industry has moved beyond the capability to build robots and now faces the challenge of whether it dares to enter the consumer market. He noted that global robot designs are increasingly converging, highlighting the shift from technical feasibility to market courage.
