Marvis AI assistant reduces system requirements for windows users
Marvis, a Windows-based AI assistant, has updated its system requirements, reducing the minimum hardware specifications from 6 cores and 16GB of RAM to 4 cores and 8GB. This change allows more low-end PCs to run the AI assistant, which offers features like file and image search, AI-generated content, and document libraries. The update also introduces task notifications to improve user experience.
The reduction in requirements is achieved through graded loading and low-resource adaptation, which balance functionality and performance. On 4-core 8GB devices, high-memory features are disabled by default, while core functions remain available. However, animations and advanced features like local mode are restricted to devices with higher specifications.
Tencent, the parent company of Marvis, continues to focus on expanding AI accessibility. By lowering hardware barriers, Marvis aims to bring AI capabilities to a broader user base, enabling more people to use AI in their daily computing tasks.
