Meituan launches LongCat-2.5-Preview model with 1.6T parameters for long-range tasks and multimodal capabilities

On September 25, 2026, Meituan's LongCat API open platform launched the LongCat-2.5-Preview model, emphasizing long-range tasks and multimodal capabilities. The model, with approximately 1.6 trillion parameters, supports up to 1 million token context windows, making it suitable for handling extensive documents, codebases, and complex multi-turn interactions. It also features enhanced multimodal understanding, including image interpretation, cross-modal question-answering, content summarization, and complex visual reasoning. The model is designed to integrate seamlessly with popular development environments such as Claude Code, Hermes, OpenClaw, OpenCode, and Kilo Code. Meituan also opened API and web-based access for users to experience the new model.
