Meta acknowledges muse's strong connection to openclaw

Meta's Muse AI has drawn significant attention for its apparent similarities to OpenClaw, with early users suggesting it is essentially OpenClaw under a different guise. In response, Nat Friedman, head of product at Meta’s Superintelligence Labs, confirmed that Muse was 'definitely heavily inspired' by OpenClaw but was 'built from scratch.' Friedman highlighted that the team was drawn to OpenClaw's design and aimed to create a scalable, user-friendly version for billions of people. He praised OpenClaw's creator, Peter Steinberger, for getting key elements right. Meanwhile, Ansh Nanda, an AI app co-founder, claimed Muse is 'LITERALLY OpenClaw for normies,' sparking widespread debate on X. The Muse app has recently reached No. 1 on the U.S. App Store, outperforming ChatGPT in certain metrics. A Meta spokesperson reiterated Friedman's comments, stating the company has no further comments to add.
