Meta introduces ai-powered wearable for muse agent
Meta has unveiled a new AI-powered wearable device, the Muse Charm, designed to enhance user interaction with its Muse AI agent. The device, which CEO Mark Zuckerberg showcased during the company’s annual Connect event, is intended to provide a convenient way for users to stay connected to their AI agent, which is embodied by a digital avatar named Jolly. The wearable, which is palm-sized and can be attached to a keychain, features a small screen displaying the avatar and includes a fingerprint sensor for quick access. Zuckerberg stated that the device will be available for purchase by December, following the completion of final component arrangements. The Muse Charm is described as having a quasi-Tamagotchi feel, offering a low-stakes entry into AI wearables while expanding Meta’s reach in distributing its AI agent to a broader audience.
The device allows users to interact with the Muse AI agent through voice commands, eliminating the need to unlock a phone or open an app. Zuckerberg emphasized that the wearable is particularly useful for users who do not wear glasses, as it provides a faster method of accessing the AI agent. The Muse Charm represents Meta’s continued investment in AI hardware, positioning it as a competitive player in the wearable technology market alongside other companies like Anthropic and OpenAI.
