Meta unveils new VR glasses and smart glasses line

At its Meta Connect event, CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the next generation of Meta’s smart glasses and VR headsets. The new Meta VR Glasses, resembling large goggles, are five times lighter than the Meta Quest 3 and feature a 5K micro-OLED display. They connect to existing controllers and use hand gestures and eye tracking for interaction. Priced at $1,300, they are set to ship in spring 2027. The Ray-Ban Meta Audio, a camera-free smart glasses model, offers 12 hours of battery life and is available for preorder, with shipping starting on October 10. Meta also introduced its Gen 3 LISA Adventurer glasses, featuring improved cameras and audio capabilities, with prices starting at $449. The company continues to address privacy concerns with its new line of smart glasses.
