Meta has announced that its AI assistant, Muse, will soon be available on smart glasses, allowing users to complete various tasks through voice commands without needing to use their phones. Muse operates based on the Muse Spark AI model, running in a private, persistent Linux virtual machine hosted in the cloud, with its own browser, file system, and terminal. These components continue to run even when the app is closed, enabling Muse to autonomously execute tasks, generate documents, and create interactive tools. Muse is designed for everyday users, featuring a simplified interface with a chat-like design and a personalized avatar. It can assist with booking travel, sending emails, filling out forms, and even negotiating bills or selling cars. To ensure security, Muse uses Stripe’s Link service for payments, avoiding direct access to users’ financial information. Meta also plans to introduce Confidential VMs later this year to enhance privacy by restricting even its own access to the virtual environment.
