Microsoft expands Copilot desktop capabilities with integrated web browser

Microsoft is enhancing its Copilot desktop application by integrating a built-in web browser that supports multi-tab navigation and full-screen browsing. This feature, currently in testing for administrators, allows users to open web pages alongside their Copilot sessions, reducing the need to switch between AI conversations and external browsers. The browser will be available by the end of November, with a supplementary update on September 21 adding a right-click menu to web tabs for direct access to external browsers. Microsoft confirmed that browsing data, including history and cookies, is stored locally in the user profile directory. Enterprise administrators can manage the BrowsingEnabled setting through the Microsoft Edge policy framework or manually open links in external browsers.
