Midea unveils next-gen AI cooking glasses set for march launch
Midea, a leading home appliance manufacturer, is set to launch its next-generation AI cooking glasses in March next year. The product, developed by Blue Whale Technology, represents a significant evolution from its first-generation counterpart, which was primarily designed for offline display. The new version will be sold directly to consumers, marking a shift in the company's strategy. The updated glasses are approximately 89 grams lighter than the previous model, with a transition from full-color to monochrome display and a replaceable battery solution replacing the previous charging method.
The software integration includes the 'Master Chef' AI cooking large model, developed by Midea's Chengdu team. This model features AI algorithms tailored for kitchen scenarios and logic for integration with kitchen appliances. The light guide optical module is provided by Gudong Intelligent.
The development of this hardware, which embeds an AI large model in a wearable device for kitchen use, signifies a new frontier for home appliance manufacturers. The product marks an expansion of competition from traditional kitchen appliances to wearable technology, as companies seek to integrate AI into everyday household tasks.
