MiniMax releases open-source mcode stack with 15 agent skills for coding efficiency
MiniMax has released MCode Stack, an open-source repository containing 15 agent skills used daily by its coding team to build MiniMax Code. The project, launched on October 28, 2026, is licensed under MIT and includes workflows, skills, and checklists that can be directly installed into MiniMax Code.
Unlike a prompt collection, it transforms engineering habits into executable steps for agents. The MCode Stack is paired with a column called MCode Engineering Notes, which explains key ideas and makes them runnable. The repository covers topics such as subagents, tool context, and per-turn context tax.
The 15 skills are grouped by time of day and include practices adapted from Google Engineering Practices, which remain under CC-BY 3.0. The stack is designed for developers who design agent harnesses, not just users, and is compatible with other agents that support SKILL.md format.
