Moonshot AI advances IPO plans with $50 billion valuation
Moonshot AI, known for its Kimi large language model, has submitted an A1 document to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, initiating its IPO process. The company is also pursuing final financing rounds with a pre-money valuation of $50 billion. Kimi has not commented on the rumors surrounding its IPO plans.
Since the start of 2026, Moonshot has launched multiple model versions, including K2.5, K2.6, and K3, maintaining a three-month iteration cycle. Its Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) rose from over $100 million in early March to $300 million by mid-June, boosting its valuation from $4.3 billion at the end of 2025 to $35 billion after July financing.
The company temporarily suspended new user subscriptions following the K3 release to focus on existing users, prompting a push for capital market funding. With competition shifting to commercialization metrics like ARR and enterprise customers, Moonshot’s IPO marks a significant step in the domestic AI sector’s commercialization and capitalization.
