User growth data reveals approximately two-thirds of Jira and Confluence users work in roles such as human resources, finance, and legal, rather than traditional development. This indicates AI is expanding who can build software, creating a larger pool of technology builders not necessarily categorized as software developers. The previously feared collapse of the software job market and subscription decline may not materialize, potentially replaced by an expanded market for tools serving a much larger workforce.
