Alibaba open-sources Qwen3.8-27B with significant programming improvements

Alibaba announced the open-source release of the Qwen3.8-27B model, making it freely available to developers and researchers. The 27-billion-parameter model is considered the most popular size in the global AI community. Qwen3.8-27B is a native multimodal dense model supporting 262,000 tokens of context, extendable to 1 million through YaRN technology. Compared to the previous Qwen3.6-27B, the new model demonstrates substantial improvements in programming and productivity scenarios, even surpassing performance of Qwen3.7-Plus. The model also introduces reasoning-effort control, allowing users to adjust thinking depth based on task complexity.
