Amazon commits $48 billion to India, with $21+ billion for AI and cloud infrastructure

Amazon has announced a $48 billion investment commitment to India over the next five years, with over $21 billion earmarked for AI and cloud infrastructure development. The announcement came during meetings between Amazon leadership and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The company projects the investment will create 3.8 million jobs by 2030, generate $80 billion in ecommerce exports, and deliver AI benefits to 15 million small businesses and 4 million government school students across the country.
