Anthropic Appoints Mariano-Florentino Cuéllar as Chief Global Affairs Officer
Mariano-Florentino (Tino) Cuéllar joined Anthropic as its first Chief Global Affairs Officer, leading work on policy and global government relationships. Cuéllar brings a comprehensive career spanning law, technology and international security. He recently stepped down as President of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. He served as Justice of the California Supreme Court, director of Stanford's Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies and head of the university's cybersecurity initiative. He has served on the President's Intelligence Advisory Board and the US Department of State's Foreign Affairs Policy Board. He co-chaired the Task Force on Nuclear Proliferation and American Security and co-led California's Frontier AI Working Group. He is currently a professor at Stanford Law School specializing in AI.
