Broadcom announced new security, performance and automation capabilities for VMware Cloud Foundation, aimed at defending private clouds against AI-powered attacks. Updates include improvements to vDefend and Avi Load Balancer products, with embedded AI assistants, on-premises malware sandboxing capabilities, support for air-gapped environments and API protection. The vDefend 1-2-3 workflow implements a three-stage process for deploying intrusion detection, network traffic analysis and network detection and response, reducing deployment time from months to weeks. Avi Load Balancer now offers native API protection for virtual machines, Kubernetes services and AI workloads. Broadcom also reported significant performance gains, with distributed firewall throughput reaching 75 terabits per second on VMware Cloud Foundation instances.
