Chinese autonomous driving firm enters Nordic market with Denmark service

WeRide, a Chinese autonomous vehicle technology company, partnered with GreenMobility, a Danish electric vehicle sharing platform, to launch the country's first commercial autonomous shared mobility service. The collaboration establishes WeRide as the leading Chinese robotaxi operator expanding into Europe. Service operations are scheduled for the first half of 2027, subject to regulatory approvals. Users will access WeRide's GXR autonomous vehicle platform, an L4-class system designed to comply with European Union regulatory requirements. Denmark marks WeRide's sixth European country of operation. Following commercial service announcements in Madrid and Zurich last June, the company accelerated its European rollout with concurrent launches across multiple markets. WeRide's global autonomous vehicle fleet exceeds 3,000 units deployed across more than 40 cities in 13 countries.
