Faraday Future Plans Robot Division Spin-off, Pursues Independent IPO
Jia Yueting, founder of Faraday Future (FF), announced that the company's robot division has entered a new phase of accelerated growth and is exploring independent financing and public listing opportunities for the robotics business.
The company plans to execute four major strategies in the second half: accelerate production and sales of EAI robots in American markets, deepen integration of Nvidia technology with in-house AI systems, expand solutions for education and industry, and increase real-world training data collection. The goal is to sell 2,000 robot units by December.
According to the mid-year report, the robotics division recorded gross margins exceeding 30%, but FF's overall performance fell short of expectations, impacted by legacy debts from the automotive business. The company plans to implement an aggressive debt reduction strategy and seeks to separate the robotics division from the automotive segment to allow the robotics branch to grow without the burden of historical financial obligations.
