Adeel Khan, an educator who previously founded a public high school in Denver, launched MagicSchool AI after experimenting with ChatGPT in his school and discovering its potential to transform teaching. The platform functions as an all-in-one AI operating system for K-12 educators and students, enabling teachers to build rubrics, differentiate assignments, and generate practice materials, while providing monitored AI experiences for students such as customized tutoring and writing assistance. MagicSchool has achieved rapid adoption, partnering with major school districts including Denver Public Schools, Broward County Schools, and Hillsborough County Schools, serving approximately one in five American schoolchildren and reaching roughly 8 million educators worldwide. Khan initially struggled to secure venture funding due to his non-technical background and lack of formal business plan, but after reaching 1 million users, successfully raised $63 million from venture capital firms.
