Former OpenAI Robotics Chief Joins Anthropic for Physical AI Research

Caitlin Kalinowski, who previously led OpenAI's hardware robotics division, has joined Anthropic as a technical researcher. Kalinowski, a specialist in hardware and robotics, also held leadership positions on augmented and virtual reality hardware projects at Meta and worked on products such as Mac Pro and MacBook Air at Apple. Her hiring suggests Anthropic is exploring research in robotics and physical artificial intelligence. In parallel, OpenAI has been actively recruiting full-stack hardware engineers for its robotics program, aiming to develop and manufacture machines useful to society.
