Friend, the startup that previously allocated most of its seed funding ($1.8 million of $2.5 million) to acquire the friend.com domain and run an advertising campaign across New York City subways, has returned with an updated version of its AI pendant. The major enhancement is the addition of a built-in speaker, transitioning the device from a text-only messaging tool to a voice-enabled conversational assistant. Users can now speak directly with their pendant about personal topics. The relaunched product carries a price point double that of the original model.
