Gemini-powered coding agent improves DNA sequencing accuracy

Google's AlphaEvolve, a Gemini-powered coding agent, significantly enhanced the DeepConsensus model used for correcting DNA sequencing errors. The improvements achieved a 30 percent reduction in variant detection errors, enabling PacBio researchers to analyze genetic data more accurately and at lower cost.
