Genspark Releases GenOffice, Free AI-Native Office Suite as Open Source

Genspark has open-sourced GenOffice under the Apache License 2.0, an AI-native office suite for macOS and Windows comprising five Electron applications—word processor, spreadsheet editor, presentation creator, PDF tool, and file manager. Built around AI as a first-class editing workflow rather than a supplementary chat feature, GenOffice offers free, ad-free access with AI features powered by Genspark credits. The suite was developed by a single engineer in approximately one week using roughly $10,000 in token costs. Signed installers are available for Apple Silicon macOS and Windows x64 at version 0.4.110. The alpha-stage software maintains full compatibility with .docx, .xlsx, and .pptx formats while preserving original document structure through a selective patching strategy that minimizes modifications to source files.
