Google DeepMind launched Gemini for Science, a collection of AI tools designed to help researchers across scientific disciplines. Beyond the existing aging research and hurricane prediction applications previously reported, the announcement includes multiple new applications of Co-Scientist—Google's multi-agent AI research partner—addressing infectious disease research, liver disease mechanisms, ALS treatment alternatives, and drug repurposing. The broader initiative also features AlphaEvolve for automated model improvement in genomics, and an AI co-clinician system designed to work under physician authority for augmented clinical decision-making. Additionally, Google DeepMind announced a new partnership with South Korea to apply frontier AI to address challenges in health, education, and sustainability.
