Google launches sign language translation model
Google has introduced SL2T (sign-language-to-text), a massively multilingual model capable of translating sign languages into text. The model has been integrated into Google products including Gboard and Live Transcribe on Pixel 11, enabling Deaf and hard of hearing users to sign instead of typing when interacting with devices. The model currently supports American Sign Language (ASL) with plans to expand to additional sign languages and devices.
