Google reportedly canceled Gemini 3.5 Pro model release

According to industry analysis report, Google may have internally canceled the release of the Gemini 3.5 Pro model, leaving a significant gap in its product line. CEO Sundar Pichai had announced at the 2026 I/O conference that the model would be released in June, but remains unavailable to date. To fill this void, the company may be accelerating promotion of Gemini 4. The Gemini model currently ranks eighth in the frontier models ranking, behind Muse Spark 1.2, Grok 4.5, and Chinese open-source lab models, indicating loss of leadership in advanced model capabilities.
