Hadrian raises $1.4 billion to scale AI-powered defense factories
Hadrian, a manufacturing startup for defense and aerospace, raised $1.4 billion in a round led by Baillie Gifford and J.P. Morgan, valuing the company at $7.9 billion — more than four times its January valuation. The company uses its Opus artificial intelligence platform to optimize factories serving the U.S. Army and Navy. According to CEO Chris Power, physical AI technology is transforming the physical economy, which is 100 times larger than the digital economy, and all companies will need to adapt their software foundations. The investment comes as President Trump pushes to reindustrialize America's defense manufacturing base.
