Honor introduces Robot Phone with AI-powered gimbal for multimodal assistance
Honor has launched its Robot Phone, featuring a motorized gimbal with articulated arm extending from the camera module to provide hands-free tracking during photography and video recording. Equipped with 200MP main camera, 200MP telephoto, and 50MP ultra-wide camera, the gimbal automatically tracks subject movement to maintain composition while keeping the user in frame. The device introduces multimodal AI capabilities through its YOYO AI assistant, featuring expressive animations, nodding, and shaking motions accompanied by over 100 on-screen facial expressions. The gimbal's AI-powered tracking enables practical applications such as cooking assistance, where the phone's camera can follow a user around a kitchen, allowing hands-free queries to the AI assistant about recipes and ingredient measurements. The device represents progress toward more intuitive human-AI interaction through persistent, physically-aware interfaces.
