July Venture Funding Hits $65 Billion, With Record 14 Billion-Dollar Rounds

Global venture funding reached $65 billion in July 2026, representing a 100% year-over-year increase and the third-largest funding month of the year. The month set a record with fourteen billion-dollar venture rounds, with nine from U.S.-based companies, two from Germany, two from China, and one from Singapore. AI-focused companies captured $35 billion of the total, or 53% of global venture capital, highlighting the sector's dominance in dealmaking. Notable mega-rounds included Safe Superintelligence raising $5 billion from Nvidia, Moonshot AI raising $3.5 billion following its Kimi K3 model release, and Kling AI raising $2.8 billion for short-video generation, while Blue Origin secured the largest deal with a $10 billion external investment. The venture ecosystem also showed strength in exits, with venture-backed M&A exceeding $9 billion and twelve companies going public above $1 billion in value, including Chinese chipmaker ChangXin Memory Technologies which debuted at around $85 billion and surged 466% on its first day.
