Venture capital flowed into a diverse array of large funding rounds during the week, with physical AI and AI-powered technologies leading the way. Atoms, a physical AI startup founded by Uber co-founder Travis Kalanick, raised $1.7 billion led by Andreessen Horowitz to enable complete digitization of major industrial sectors. Meshy AI, a developer of foundation models for AI-powered 3D generation, closed $400 million in Series B funding at a $1.5 billion valuation. Etched, a co-designer of chips and software for frontier AI models, secured $300 million in Series C funding at a $10 billion pre-money valuation. Sila, a battery technology company focusing on silicon anodes, obtained $300 million to expand its manufacturing facility.
