MediaTek targets 2028 production launch for second AI accelerator

MediaTek outlined its strategy for developing dedicated AI accelerator chips. Supporting infrastructure continues to advance in parallel. The company is making headway on 448G SerDes technology and optical interconnect solutions through collaboration with TSMC, including work on high-performance 3.5D chiplet stacking architectures. The company's board approved a $5 billion discretionary fund to underpin its broader AI strategy.
