Micron announces $3B investment and raises U.S. commitment to $250B through 2035
Micron announced a new strategic investment of up to $3 billion, including $500 million for GlobalWafers to expand silicon wafer capacity in Texas with a 10-year supply agreement. Simultaneously, the chipmaker increased its planned U.S. investment from $200 billion to $250 billion through 2035. Construction has begun on two new fabrication plants in Boise, Idaho, and the company poured first concrete at its New York facility, which it designated as the largest semiconductor manufacturing site in U.S. history.
