Mirendil secures $100M+ Google Cloud deal to power self-improving AI research
AI lab Mirendil has signed a multiyear partnership with Google Cloud worth over $100 million to access computing infrastructure for its self-improving AI research. The deal provides access to both Google's TPUs and Nvidia GPUs, along with managed training clusters. Self-improving AI refers to systems that iteratively enhance their own performance—a capability Mirendil aims to use for automating scientific research in fields like medicine and biology. Co-founder Behnam Neyshabur stated that the goal is to build AI systems that can continuously research and improve themselves without constant human intervention. The deal underscores the growing trend of cloud providers investing in strategic partnerships with AI startups to secure their position in the competitive AI infrastructure market.
