The European Union implemented new transparency obligations under its AI Act, which took effect on August 2nd. The rules require companies to disclose when people interact with AI models and when content has been generated or altered by them. The obligations differ between providers, which develop AI systems, and deployers, which implement these systems on platforms. Some companies like Meta and SpaceXAI are classified in both categories. Providers must design AI systems to explicitly identify chatbots and deepfakes.
