Nvidia's CEO Jensen Huang announced that OpenAI has committed to a massive deployment of Nvidia computing infrastructure. The plan envisions approximately 12 gigawatts of computing power by 2030, potentially expanding to 16 gigawatts if the partnership is broadened. The collaboration between the companies involves building a world-class data center at the PORTS-Pike complex in Portsmouth, Ohio. This venture, considered one of the largest of its kind, could cost up to 500 billion dollars, with OpenAI serving as the primary tenant of the facilities. In the initial phase, the complex will offer a capacity of 4.25 gigawatts. The implementation will take place through a partnership between Nvidia and SB Energy, securing not only computing infrastructure but also essential resources such as energy, land, and building structure. According to Huang, the business opportunity associated with supplying chips and infrastructure reaches approximately 600 billion dollars. The business model anticipates that each generation of implemented systems generates between 150 to 200 billion dollars in revenue for Nvidia, with the possibility of multiple technological upgrades over 20 years.
