OpenWALDO Launches Open-Source AI Training Data Community Project
OpenWALDO, sponsored by Ctrl IQ Inc. and led by Gregory Kurtzer (founder of Rocky Linux), launched to build a community-governed, open-source AI training data corpus. Unlike open-weight models that distribute only trained weights, OpenWALDO proposes an AI "Bill of Materials" that includes source code, complete training data, references, documents, tokens and licensing information. This approach ensures all information is attributed, reviewable and correctable publicly, guaranteeing transparency about copyrighted content before training begins.
