OpenWorker launches as open-source AI agent delivering concrete work outputs
OpenWorker is an open-source artificial intelligence agent designed to move beyond conversational chat, instead delivering concrete work outputs. The tool can autonomously prepare client summaries, organize calendars, draft reports, and triage Slack alerts.
The application runs natively on Mac computers, with Windows support planned for the near future. A key differentiator is flexibility in model selection—users can supply their own API keys and run OpenWorker with various models including GPT, Claude, Gemini, and open-weight alternatives such as DeepSeek or Ollama, avoiding lock-in to any single provider.
Privacy forms a core principle of the project design: user data remains on their local machine, transmitted only through the chosen LLM provider and integrations. The creators built OpenWorker to offer an open, privacy-conscious alternative in the AI agent space that remains model-agnostic.
