Oracle bans AI-generated code submissions in OpenJDK project
Oracle announced a new policy for the OpenJDK project prohibiting submissions of content generated by AI systems, including large language models, diffusion models, and deep learning systems. The restriction covers code, text, pull requests, email communications, wikis, and bug reports. The decision was driven by concerns about intellectual property risks, cybersecurity, and code review workload. Developers can use AI tools in private contexts for code review and debugging, but any AI-generated content is prohibited from official repositories.
