Railway has secured $100 million in Series B funding led by TQ Ventures, expanding its platform of two million developers built without traditional marketing. The San Francisco-based startup has established itself as a faster and more cost-effective alternative to AWS and Google Cloud. Railway deploys applications in under one second, dramatically faster than the industry standard of two to three minutes—a critical advantage as AI coding assistants generate functional code in seconds. This speed advantage addresses a fundamental bottleneck in modern development workflows. The company built its own data centers to achieve complete control over network, compute, and storage layers. Its pricing undercuts traditional hyperscalers by roughly 50 percent and competitive startups by three to four times. The platform charges exclusively for actual compute usage, eliminating fees for idle virtual machines. With a lean team of 30 employees, Railway handles more than 10 million deployments monthly and processes trillions of requests through its edge network. The company claims that 31 percent of Fortune 500 companies use its platform. Last year brought significant acceleration with 3.5x revenue growth and month-over-month expansion of 15 percent.
