Schneider Electric bets on AI and industrial automation through venture fund
Schneider Electric's SE Ventures fund has invested over €1 billion in startups focused on the intersection of AI and the physical world, spanning data center infrastructure, grid resilience, robotics, and industrial automation. The fund, which focuses on rebuilding the physical layer of the economy through AI, counts eight unicorns and twelve successful exits in its portfolio. Amit Chaturvedy, who joined SE Ventures in 2022 after leading corporate investments at Cisco, highlighted that energy has become the defining constraint for AI development, with scarce resources centered on building capacity, real estate, power infrastructure, and electrification technology.
