SpaceX Completes Acquisition of AI Coding Startup Cursor

SpaceX has finalized its acquisition of Cursor, the AI-powered coding startup. The deal, valued at $60 billion, represents SpaceX's continued expansion in the artificial intelligence sector, following the company's earlier purchase of Elon Musk's xAI. Initially announced in April as a partnership to develop technology jointly, SpaceX exercised its acquisition option after becoming a publicly traded company two months later. The merger grants Cursor access to SpaceX's massive computing infrastructure, including what the startup describes as the world's largest GPU fleet. This computational capacity, which SpaceX has been providing to clients such as Anthropic and Google, positions Cursor to significantly scale its AI capabilities. The company noted in its announcement that the integration represents a strategic alignment of resources to advance artificial intelligence development.
