According to Tom's Hardware reporting, Elon Musk stated during a SpaceX employee meeting that the power capacity of SpaceXAI data centers (formerly xAI) will expand approximately 7-fold by the end of 2027, reaching 10 gigawatts. Musk asserted that SpaceXAI has already built 'the world's largest AI training cluster' and plans to expand the cluster scale roughly 10-fold over the next year. The company's data centers located in Memphis and Southaven currently have combined nominal capacity of 1.4GW. Should the expansion proceed as planned, SpaceXAI will be operating 10GW of AI computational capacity by end of 2027. Musk estimated that if each watt of AI capacity generates value between $30-50, and 10GW of capacity is online by end of 2027, xAI could generate annual revenue of $300-500 billion. This investment positions SpaceXAI to compete directly with AI providers at global scale.
