Tencent Cloud Expands Presence in Southeast Asia with New Malaysia Data Center

Tencent Cloud announced the establishment of its first data center in Malaysia, located in Johor state, as part of its regional expansion strategy. The infrastructure will feature three availability zones in its initial phase and will be integrated into the company's global network, which spans 23 regions and 66 availability zones. The company formalized partnerships with Malaysia University of Technology, Boost, and Genting Plantations Group to strengthen its local market position. In parallel, Tencent unveiled its latest artificial intelligence solutions designed for implementation in corporate production environments. Among the launches is WorkBuddy, an AI-native agent for desktop computers that provides over 100 features, enabling professionals to perform tasks such as market research, data analysis, and project planning. As part of its commitment to local development, Tencent also initiated a training program aimed at preparing more than one thousand AI professionals in Malaysia.
