Warp unveiled Warp Factories on Tuesday, a new platform designed to lower the barrier for companies deploying AI agent-based development systems. The infrastructure layer provides a pre-built architecture covering traditional software development phases—triage, specification, implementation, review, and verification—with support for automation at each stage. While larger companies like Stripe and Ramp have already built similar systems in-house, Warp Factories targets smaller organizations without the resources for such custom development. The platform allows teams to select their preferred coding models, integrates with existing tools like Linear, Jira, Slack, and Teams, and includes monitoring capabilities to track performance metrics and token usage. According to CEO Zach Lloyd, current automation covers approximately 30 to 35 percent of development tasks, with expectations for improvement as models and infrastructure advance. The system is positioned to augment rather than replace human engineers, enabling better collaboration between developers and AI agents.
