Zhipu Presents GLM-5.3, Competitive AI Model With Closed-Source Giants, Promising Release Soon

Zhipu has announced the launch of the GLM-5.3 model API, which demonstrates proficiency in complex coding, defensive network security, and long-duration tasks. According to the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index, GLM-5.3 achieved a score of 60, positioning itself at the same level as cutting-edge closed-source models such as Claude Fable 5 and GPT-5.6 Sol, in addition to being the best-performing open-source model, tied with Kimi K3. Despite its competitive performance, GLM-5.3 operates with fewer parameters and reduced request costs compared to competing models. The model leverages the base of GLM-5.2, with improvements resulting from specialized post-training. The API is available for use at prices maintained from the previous version, and the open-source code will be released next Friday.
